M Electrical is an electrical contracting firm that specialises in providing
high-quality services to customers within the domestic, commercial and
industrial sectors. We are a medium-sized, privately owned company based in
Ferndown, and we have been trading for over 30 years.
Day to day, our engineers work across Bournemouth, Ferndown,
Wimborne, West Parley, West Moors, Poole and the rest of Dorset.
We also have the capacity to take on national contracts, and we do — but the
local work is the heart of the business, and it is the reason we are still here

Do I need to arrange a separate building control inspection?
No. As a Registered Competent Person we self-certify notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations. Your certificate comes directly from us and your local authority is notified for you, so there is nothing extra for you to book or pay for.

Bournemouth is where most of our work is. We are based in Ferndown and also work regularly in Wimborne, West Moors, West Parley, Poole and across Dorset. We take on larger contracts nationally, so it is always worth asking.
Is there a minimum job size?
No — no job is too small. We are just as happy replacing a single socket as we are wiring a new build, and the estimate is free either way.
Do you undertake insurance work?
Yes. We regularly carry out insurance work and can provide the certification and written reports insurers ask for.

Bournemouth is where most of our work is, and it has been that way for over thirty years. From Victorian conversions around Winton and Charminster to the newer estates at Talbot Village and the flats along the seafront, we know the sort of wiring we are likely to find before we lift a floorboard — which is why we can usually price a job accurately on the first visit.
We are based a short drive north in Ferndown, so the towns and villages either side of the A31 are part of our normal week too. Wimborne brings us a steady run of period-property rewires, West Moors and West Parley a mix of bungalow upgrades and consumer unit replacements, and Poole and Christchurch make up much of the rest. We take on larger contracts nationally as well.
